Running over 2 consecutive days (2.5 hours per day) this holiday workshop focuses on building self-understanding and relationships between autistic neurokin through celebration of participants' autism diagnoses in a small supportive group environment.
This workshop is a wonderful way to connect with like-minded peers in a safe and non-judgmental space. Many autistic girls feel alone and have not had the opportunity to meet others like them. Having an autistic teenage group for those with the internalised presentation allows us to focus on building self-understanding through exploring and celebrating their diagnoses, while building authentic friendship skills without the pressure to mask.
This 6-week group is a neurodiversity-affirming social support and friendship group. We do not teach social skills here but rather topics will cover friendship and what to look for in a friend, saying no and being assertive, common friendship problems, and bullying. It will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and help the girls find authentic friends. This is a one hour group with a brief parent summary in the last 15 minutes.
My Unique Brain is an online neurodiversity affirming group for diagnosed or self-identifying as autistic adults. The aim of this group is to explore and understand your own unique autistic brains in a safe and affirming space. The group is for female or female-identifying adults. Each session will follow the DSM-5-TR criteria for Autism, exploring how these are uniquely experienced by group members, moving beyond the medical model, and supporting members to an increased self-understanding of their diagnosis.
10 week program at 2 hours per session
