Francesca is an AuDHD, neuro‑affirming clinician who creates therapy spaces that feel calm, curious, and genuinely welcoming. She understands that the world often expects neurodivergent people to fit into neurotypical systems, and works alongside clients to discover ways of living, connecting, and thriving that honour their neurodivergent needs, not reinforcing societal suppression or shame.. Francesca is excited to be joining the UniqueU team and is in the process of finalising her full psychology registration (currently is registered as a provisional psychologist) and Medicare provider number, after which rebates will become available. Francesca works with teens 16+ and adults.
Francesca has spent close to a decade working in mental health services, research and advocacy before completing the final stages of her psychology training. Her work is all about meeting you where you are, creating a warm and safe space to support you to explore and affirm what is important to you, such as your neurodivergent identity, unmasking safely, and navigating life with greater self‑compassion.
Francesca enjoys working creatively - using visuals, games, moments of quiet or movement, or writing when the words are not wording — and shaping sessions so they feel comfortable, meaningful, and accessible. With a background in community mental health, she works from an intersectional lens, supporting people of all genders, sexualities, and cultural backgrounds within their unique contexts. She especially loves working with autistic, ADHD, and neurodivergent teens and adults, or those exploring where they fit in relation to their neurotype.
Francesca is eclectic in her therapeutic approach rooted foremost in neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and strength-based practice. She draws from Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Francesca finds her pockets of joy in singing, spending time in nature, and listening to her favourite songs on repeat for those much‑needed sensory/stim breaks. She’s a big kid at heart and delights in the weird and wonderful beings in her life — including her very cute cats. She values authenticity, curiosity, and play, and brings those qualities into her work every day.
